Senior Compliance Officer - Banking (m/w/d) - Larson Maddox

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and further develop the German Compliance function
• Identify, assess and monitor Compliance risks across areas including AML, sanctions, MiFID/WpHG, fraud prevention and ethics
• Maintain and develop Compliance policies, procedures and internal controls
• Act as a key Compliance adviser to management and operational business functions
• Oversee the annual Second Line Compliance monitoring and control programme
• Monitor relevant regulatory developments and coordinate their implementation
• Coordinate and support regulatory examinations and responses to supervisory requests
• Deliver Compliance training and awareness initiatives across the organisation
• Support Compliance considerations relating to new products and business activities

Your Profile

• Several years of relevant experience within Compliance in banking or another regulated financial institution
• Strong knowledge of German and European banking regulation
• Good understanding of MaRisk, WpHG/MiFID and AML/GwG requirements
• Experience in Compliance monitoring, risk assessments, policies and controls
• Exposure to regulators and/or regulatory examinations would be highly advantageous
• Previous MLRO, Deputy MLRO or AML Officer experience is desirable
• Leadership experience or clear readiness to take on responsibility for a small team
• Strong stakeholder-management and communication skills
• Fluent German and strong English skills
